The Coast to Coast Walk - West Section traverses the Lake District National Park from the cliffs of St Bees Head to the lovely old market town of Kirkby Stephen. Along the way it takes in some of the loveliest parts of the Lake District including Ennerdale, Honister Pass, Borrowdale, Grasmere, Patterdale and Haweswater. Highlights of the walk include the glorious west door of the priory church of St Mary and St Bega in St Bees; the amazing views of Pillar and Great Gable during the walk through Ennerdale; the pretty villages in Borrowdale; visiting Dove Cottage in Grasmere; discussing the days walk in the pub with other walkers on the Coast to Coast Walk; the views of Striding Edge during the descent from Grisedale Tarn; walking along Haweswater; the hand-made chocolates in Orton; the ‘bound devil’ in St Stephen’s Church, Kirkby Stephen.
